On 8 October 2026 the FDA approved atezolizumab with fluoropyrimidine and oxaliplatin chemotherapy as adjuvant treatment of stage III mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) colon cancer, based on the open-label phase 3 ATOMIC trial (NCT02912559) in 711 adults and one child after complete resection: disease-free survival hazard ratio 0.50 (95% CI 0.35-0.73); median DFS not reached in either arm. The FDA notice reports no overall-survival comparison.
